Run 5 was quite a cold one

Today’s run was a bit challenging. The cold weather made it tougher due to the chilly air affecting my breathing. I decided to listen to my body and walk whenever necessary.

There were dry and slippery patches on the ground that I seemed to have overlooked last year, as I don’t recall being concerned about this. I’m optimistic about managing Park Run on Saturday and continuing my runs next week. I’ve been sticking to about 2.5 miles per shorter run, aiming to extend it to 3 miles each time next week. I hope this gradual increase won’t strain my body too much.

You know what’s been the toughest for me? Those rehydration drinks! I’m blending them into strong orange juice to hide the taste, but they still make me gag! Despite that, I’ve realised how crucial they are post-run. Usually, I get a headache or feel very tired, so they’ve become essential. I’m not great at drinking water either, so I think a new water bottle might help!

  • Run 4 – 2.74 mile | 34 minutes
  • Weather – 5 degrees and dry
  • Overall feel – Moderate today, cold air making it tough
