Training has fully begun and I am clocking in the early miles.
Run 1 presented a soggy challenge with numerous flooded paths, making the terrain quite demanding in spots. Rain doesn’t deter me; in fact, I find it invigorating and prefer running in cooler temperatures. However, my hands tend to get cold, prompting a search for last year’s gloves. Encountering just a few dog walkers in the rain, I make sure to slow down to avoid any potential negative encounters.
Following Run 1, I allowed myself a few days to recuperate, resuming my runs on the 20th for the second session. This run felt rejuvenating under clear skies, though remnants of flooding persisted along with slippery leaves on the ground. Keeping it short, I circled the nearby block. Currently, I’m incorporating walking breaks, which can be frustrating; it’s not about breathlessness but rather tired legs. Nevertheless, I anticipate improvement, recalling how easily I managed 7 miles last year in the end.
- Run 1 – 2.47 mile | 32 minutes
- Run 2 – 2.38 mile | 31 minutes
- Overall mileage – 4.85 miles
